The Laser Tag Virtual Museum
This page is still under construction! Please check back soon, and there should be even more active links to pictures, descriptions, technical specs, etc.
But for now...
The following is a list of homestyle lasertag (or "Lazer Tag") systems, arranged by the year when they first appeared. There is no attempt to order them within the year by any criteria. The listings show the name of the system, followed by the manufacturer's name in parenthesis. In general, only the first year a system was available is listed here, even though the system may have been manufactured in many variants over several years. New entries are created for significant changes to the system, such as for the transition from Worlds Of Wonder "Lazer Tag" to Tiger "Lazer Tag" or from the original "Laser Challenge" to "Laser Challenge Pro" and "Laser Challenge V2". Specific models within a line are linked from the page for that line.
Those systems that I know exist but do not know when they first came out are listed at the end.
Please note that this is a list of all home-style lasertag systems OF WHICH I AM AWARE. There are certainly others that I either have never heard of, or which I haven't gotten around to adding yet. Please help me fill in the blanks! There are instructions for contacting me via e-mail in the paragraph just after the "unknown year" entry.
All of the entries for systems are links -- you can click on them to get to a page with pictures and specifications, in some cases even schematics and waveforms, by clicking on the name of the system. These linked pages are all part of my virtual museum. Most of the gear described is in my personal collection, though some of the information comes from eBay listings, other websites, etc.
Please note that as with ALL of my pages and postings, the information presented is solely the opinion of the author, which is me. And I don't always know what I am talking about, so take it all with a grain of salt...
Most of the system and brand names are protected by copyrights and/or registered trademarks, and may not be used for any commercial purpose without the express written permission of the copyright or trademark owner. Unless othewrwise noted, all photographs are my own, of equipment in my personal collection, and no copyright is claimed on the photographs.
Links beginning with [*] are presently dead links, waiting for me to finish building the linked page.
Links beginning with [**] point to my Lazer Tag Brand page, which covers Worlds Of Wonder Lazer Tag (WOW), Tiger Lazer Tag (TLT), and Tiger/Hasbro Lazer Tag Team Ops (LTTO) lines -- eventually I may give each one its own seperate page.
