Spreadsheet Downloads

This page provides downloads of some of the more common spreadsheet packages that were available for DOS. The programs on this page are to be used at your own risk. They are made available here on the basis that they are considered 'abandonware' by their original authors, or the authors' policy on reproduction is permitted.

Most of these download files are compressed with 7zip (.7z), and within them may contain raw disk images in .IMG format. To extract the data from the image files use WinImage.

Where downloads are greyed-out it means there are copies around on the internet but I have not secured permissions to use DOS Days as a download repository for that application or utility.

 

Borland

Quattro
Version 1.0 (?)

With v1.0 there is no installer. To use the software, copy all files from all disks to a folder on your hard drive. To configure Quattro for floppy-only operation, run floppy.bat on the help disk.

5.0 includes versions for both DOS and Windows 3.x.
Note: The first Windows version, released in 1992, was numbered "1.0". The next release jumped to "5.0".

Quattro Pro
Version 5.6 (?)

Quattro Pro 5.6 for DOS is the final release for the MS-DOS platform. This version was released by Corel, who had acquired Quattro Pro and WordPerfect from Novel. It was bundled as a part of WordPerfect Office 6.2 for DOS.

Quattro Pro
Version SE 1.0 (?)

The "SE" version (Quattro Pro Special Edition) is a scaled-down version of Quattro Pro priced for the home market. It lacks the WYSIWYG of the full version. Although labeled "1.0", it is based off Quattro Pro 3 or 4.

Lotus

The rights to Lotus Development Corporation's software are now with IBM after their buyout in 1995.

Release 3 was completely re-written in C (earlier versions were in Assembler) but Lotus kept the earlier Rel 2.x going for slower PCs.

Rel 3.1, like 2.3 added WYSIWYG capabilities and support for files up to 64 MB in size.

Others

The rights to MicroPro International's software are believed to be owned by The Learning Company (formerly called SoftKey) after their merger with MicroPro in 1993.

MicroPro CalcStar
Version 1.47a (1980)

CalcStar 1.47a, released in 1980, is a spreadsheet from MicroPro, somewhat like VisiCalc but using commands similar to WordStar. You can also format content similar to WordStar. It was available for CP/M and DOS, and often part of early 80s system's bundled software.

As Easy As
Version 5.7 (2002)

This is the last DOS release of the shareware spreadsheet, As-Easy-As, released in 2002.
As of 03/11/2004, As-Easy-As for DOS was discontinued. Copies of the program can still be downloaded and FREE full licenses can be installed using the information below. The manual (PDF) is included in the ZIP file.
